A measured building survey is an accurate record of a building’s dimensions including the structural elements and architectural features. This information is reproduced in floor plans, sections and elevations to a pre-defined level of detail.
Professional measured building surveys
We work throughout the UK and have considerable experience in producing detailed and accurate measured building surveys for our clients. Our surveyors use the latest laser scanning and digital equipment and also use more traditional survey methods.
Defining the measured building survey specification
Prior to going out on site, we will agree the measured building survey specification with you. This will include defining the survey deliverables such as 2D plans, sections and elevations. We can also deliver 3D models which can be BIM Level 2 compliant if required.
Undertaking the measured building survey
While on site, our surveyors will use both laser scanning equipment together with more traditional survey methods to capture the information you require.
Compiling the survey data
Following completion of the survey on-site survey we will draw up the measured floor plans or as-built plans in AutoCAD™ or Revit™, building these on an accurately surveyed building footprint. With areas measured and calculated in accordance with the RICS Code of Measuring Practice.
Delivering the survey data
We will then supply the survey data as agreed in the specification. We will deliver the measured floor plans with the tailored levels of detail for our clients requirements. This could include information on “walls, doors and windows” for space planning purposes, or a fully detailed data set including all 3D level information for architectural design development.
