The company provides a high quality training programme and the opportunity for further career development. Over 80 people work at C A Design Services across three regional offices. Our head office is in Great Yarmouth and we have regional offices in Leeds and Wolverhampton. We also have staff working on site for a variety of clients throughout the UK.
We are organised in service-related teams including Retail, Drawing, Survey, Information Systems, Mapping and Business Support and below a member from each team tells you a little more about their experiences of working for CADS.
Aimée, Deputy Retail Services Manager “I joined the Leeds team at C A Design Services in November 2007 progressing my career which had started a year previously following University.
Over the years I have worked on a wide variety of projects working for CADS, taking on more responsibility with experience. Clients I have worked for include West Yorkshire Archive Services, Waitrose, Asda, Clarks, Morrison, Pizza Hut, Sainsbury’s, H&K for McDonalds, Cox and Gil for Focus and predominantly Homebase.
I am now the Deputy Retail Services Manager. On a weekly basis I create quotations, check budget timings, provide project reports and have regular client meetings. I also support a team of 20, across the Leeds and Wolverhampton offices, including managing their workload and personal development. After nine years I’m still learning, developing and flourishing within the business and I look forward to what the next nine have in store.”
James, CAD Operator “I was given a fantastic start to my career with an apprenticeship at CADS. This involved both studying and working at The Design Centre and I was well supported throughout. Not only have I gained a great knowledge of the CAD industry but I’ve also gained great friends.”
Alberto, Senior Surveyor “I am enjoying working for C A Design Services. The company provides a high quality training program and the opportunity for teams to share their valuable knowledge in regular meetings, which I believe is a key to success.
As a land surveying engineer joining a diverse surveying team, we have integrated our different fields of expertise in every project we have worked on. This has meant we have developed innovative and comprehensive solutions and are able to tackle the most challenging international projects.
I would say that one of the most important things for an employee is getting good feedback about their effort. After 12 months working for CADS I was rewarded for my commitment and hard work with promotion to senior surveyor. This is inspiring for the future.
I have been welcomed into the team very quickly, thanks to the really friendly ambience in the office and living abroad in the UK has been made much easier thanks to the great people I work with.”
Alan, Software Test Analyst
“I’m currently in my thirteenth year at CADS and in that time I’ve had the opportunity to work a few disciplines throughout the business. This has included working in the digital mapping team and assisting the survey team with 3D laser scanning and point cloud registration which was a great experience and resulted in some really fantastic looking 3d models.
My current role is as a Software Test Analyst in the Information Systems department and I’m responsible for ensuring that the bespoke software created by the team is fit for purpose before launch.
CADS is a good place to work. There can’t be many places that can offer the opportunity to learn such an interesting variety of skills and the staff here are a great bunch to work with each day”
