Measured Building Surveys
We provide detailed and accurate surveys to your specification for sites of any size. Surveys of thousands of properties have included churches, high-rise flats, embassies and supermarkets.
Floor Plans
Floor plans can be supplied with levels of detail to suit your requirements - from “walls, doors and windows” for space planning, to a fully detailed data set including all 3D information (sill & head heights, stair riser and going details, door heights, ceiling heights, beam details etc.).
As part of our measured surveys, the surveyors can also pick up and highlight other information such as any electrical and data points, sanitary fittings, incoming mains positions, plant, fire fighting and detection equipment, security equipment and signage.
Roof Plans
A measured survey of the roof plan of most properties is produced to show the locations of any plant or other obstructions. The data is gathered either by accessing the roof directly, or where access is limited, by using the reflectorless function of the total station from ground or lower roof level.
Space Usage Surveys

These measured surveys are primarily used in Asset Management programmes but are also useful for space planning and feasibility studies. They generally consist of a set of floor plans showing walls, columns, doors, windows, floor level changes and room names/usage only. The property can then be broken down as required into Gross Internal, Net Internal or Gross External Areas. This data can then be extracted into a table on the drawing, a spreadsheet or database.
Our team of measured building surveyors is fully trained in all of the latest surveying equipment. All measured building surveys, irrespective of size or type, are carried out using Leica Disto handheld laser measuring devices and Leica 800 or 1200 series total stations. All of our equipment is regularly serviced and calibrated by the manufacturer to ensure both accuracy and consistency.

Our team of 16 Surveyors are all trained to the same high standard. They all understand why they are doing what they are doing and therefore appreciate the importance of accuracy in their work. The entire team are permanent, full-time staff who all hold CSCS cards for work on building sites, as well as being CRB and PoVA checked and cleared for work in education, healthcare, Counter Terrorist Checks for use on government sites, and childcare environments.
Drawings are produced using either AutoCAD or MicroStation software. Your deliverable can then be specified to complement the software available to you or your client e.g. .dgn, .dwg, .dxf, .dwf, .pdf or image files. CAD files can be delivered in either 2D or 3D formats, or alternatively we can provide hard copy plans up to A0 size in mono or colour. All measured survey data is also accompanied by a full set of digital photographs.
Dependant upon the size of the project involved, we can send your survey drawings by email, on CD / DVD by post or the files can be uploaded onto a secure ftp site.
