Shredding

After all your documents/drawings have been scanned and the digital images accepted, the hard copy can be totally destroyed at our facility.

Once scanned, your records will be stored securely at our offices until permission is granted to destroy them. We will then arrange for confidential destruction within 48 hours of instruction.

All shredding is carried out at our site under the supervision of C A Design personnel. An approved specialist contractor visits our site on a nominated date, with a purpose built, mobile shredding and baling vehicle, complete with their vetted driver/operator. As part of our QA procedures, all our suppliers and contractors are required to complete an assessment questionnaire and are fully checked out.

This procedure ensures that confidential documents are never transported in a whole condition after scanning. Total destruction guaranteed – onsite.

The process complies with the new British Standard for information destruction – BS8470 – and the contractor verifies that their drivers/operators are vetted to BS7858, covering at least 10 years of personnel history. Thereby giving complete assurance on data protection.

All documents are shredded to a width of 10mm and the shredded bulk is baled automatically as part of the equipment's cycle. Generally, up to 2,500 kilos of material per hour can be destroyed by these mobile shredding units.

The bales of shredded material are sent for re-pulping and recycling into low-grade paper by UK paper mills. The recycled paper is mainly directed back to the UK market for use in the manufacture of a wide range of products, from printing paper to tissue.

Recycled paper produces 73% less air pollution than paper made from raw materials.

A detailed Certificate of Destruction for all the material shredded is issued immediately following completion of the shredding process.
