Microfilm scanning

Many organisations with collections of microfilm are finding it difficult to search, read and distribute information.

If you have a collection of aperture cards or microfilm rolls or jackets, we can provide a complete service of scanning to give you a conveniently accessible electronic archive.

Unlike many other providers of aperture card scanning, we have a greyscale scanning head on our machine which gives an excellent photo quality scan. An additional feature of our aperture card scanner is that a 100% image quality check is carried out at the scanning stage, so any unnecessary background can be removed. This guarantees that all detail is captured at a manageable file size.

We can offer you a complete service starting with efficient collection through to delivery of digital images, on CD/DVD, or, as increasingly now demanded, in a retrieval system, externally or internally hosted and managed.

  • Process 35mm aperture cards plus 35 & 16mm microfilm (mono only)
  • Provide electronic files in a variety of file formats, .tiff, .pdf, .jpeg, .cit, etc – with or without .tiff viewing software
  • Digitise scanned drawing images to .dwg/.dxf/.dgn CAD files
  • Digitise scanned drawing images to a variety of GIS files shapes
  • Plot drawing files up to A0 size
